The Andorran Red Cross and local delivery firm CityXerpa have launched a collection campaign for food and basic hygiene products to supply the Botiga Solidària and support families in vulnerable situations over the Christmas and New Year period.

Users can donate items such as pasta, rice, oil, milk, legumes, cleaning and personal-hygiene products, and some typical Christmas foods via the CityXerpa app. The app includes a dedicated "Donacions" category from which donors select products and complete the order as they would a normal purchase. The delivery address entered is not used; all contributions are centralized and CityXerpa will group and hand them over to the Red Cross on 22 and 23 December.

CityXerpa is contributing its logistical and technological capacity to make donating easy from a mobile phone, while the Red Cross says the initiative helps reduce financial pressure on households and allows more families to prepare fuller holiday meals and spend the season with dignity. The Red Cross expressed its gratitude to CityXerpa and to everyone taking part.
