Andorra Police Arrest Three Tourists for Assaults and Disturbances Over Three Days

Police in Andorra arrested three tourists over three days for separate incidents involving assaults, gender violence, and public disturbances, with the final detention early Sunday in Escaldes-Engordany.

Officers took a 29-year-old man into custody at around 00:27 Sunday in a family-owned private home in Escaldes-Engordany. He faces charges of offenses against physical and moral integrity after hitting his partner during a heated argument. The property owner notified authorities after finding evidence of the assault.

The first incident occurred just after midnight Thursday on Avinguda del Fener in Escaldes-Engordany. Police detained another 29-year-old man, classified as a tourist due to lacking a valid residence permit despite apparent local ties. His brother, the homeowner, returned to discover him slapping his 25-year-old girlfriend, who has regularized residency and showed a visible facial mark from the blow. The suspect also struck his brother upon learning he had called police. A patrol arrived roughly 20 minutes later and arrested him for an offense against physical integrity in the context of gender-based violence.

On Friday at about 9am, authorities arrested a 37-year-old female tourist at a hotel in Andorra la Vella. She faces charges of offenses against physical and moral integrity for attacking her ex-partner in the presence of their underage daughter. The trio had arrived together for a vacation in the Principality.

The third case took place early Saturday around 1:40am at a nightclub in Andorra la Vella. During a patrol check prompted by a disturbance, police detained a 28-year-old male tourist who refused to identify himself, reacted excessively toward officers, and seriously insulted them. He faces charges of offenses against public function and honor. The police action restored calm and prevented further trouble.
