Canillo parish council has launched the initial phase of a project to build a new municipal services building on the Forn de Calç plot, next to the fire station. The facility will house the traffic management, snow clearance, and public road maintenance services, which currently operate from rented spaces.

The council published a public tender in the BOPA on Wednesday for earthworks to prepare the site. These works will excavate the ground to a depth of about 3 metres for a basement level, plus additional depth for foundations, reaching roughly 4.5 metres below the current street level. The preparation aligns with plans for a 490-square-metre building with a 30-metre street-facing facade. The tender covers only site clearance and stabilisation to foundation level, in line with current regulations, and excludes building design or construction.

Bids must be submitted via the public procurement platform within 30 working days from the day after the BOPA publication.

The overall project carries a budgeted cost of €3.25 million, with €750,000 allocated for 2026. Parish authorities aim to complete the move by 2027, consolidating operations on the communally owned land.
