Police in Encamp arrested a 27-year-old man late Thursday evening after he struck protective barriers on the CG-2 highway, injuring a girl pedestrian who required hospital care. The driver, who registered a blood alcohol level of 1.47, faces charges of crimes against public safety and against physical and moral integrity.

The crash took place shortly after 9pm at kilometre 2.500 in the Bartra area. Witnesses described the vehicle weaving downhill before hitting several barriers on the right side of the road. One barrier dislodged and hit a girl on the pavement. The man initially fled the scene, continuing about 100 metres with a punctured front-right tyre and damage to the front-right corner of his car. Officers, supported by Encamp's traffic service, pursued and stopped him shortly after.

In the same early hours, police made two more drink-driving arrests. A 44-year-old female tourist tested at 1.16 at the Riu Runer border crossing. A 38-year-old man registered 0.97 during a check in Andorra la Vella.

Over recent days, additional arrests included a 65-year-old non-resident in Canillo, charged with a crime against legal traffic security for using a forged document claiming he was a private security agent.

Into Friday morning, police detained a 28-year-old tourist outside a casino on Prat de la Creu in Andorra la Vella. The man, showing clear signs of intoxication, argued with bouncers before clashing with officers, leading to a physical scuffle on the street. He refused an alcohol test and faces charges of crimes against public function for disobedience and against honour for insults. That same night saw two further drink-driving stops and an arrest for possessing less than a gram of cocaine upon entering the country.
