Josep-Lluís Serrano Pentinat, Andorra's Episcopal Co-Prince and Bishop of Urgell, visited Pas de la Casa on Wednesday to show support for residents and businesses affected by the RN-20 road closure, noting local "concern" alongside "good will" during meetings and inspections.

The visit began at 3pm with a welcome from Encamp consuls Laura Mas and Xavier Fernández. Serrano Pentinat then met representatives from the parish's economic and social council, including traders and residents Josep Maria Mas and Òscar Borra, Grandvalira manager Julio Ventaja, hoteliers, and young locals Jeannot Martinho and Rui da Costa. The group toured refurbishments at Plaça de l'Església—around 5:45pm—including upgrades to Sant Pere del Pas church—as well as the sports centre, nursery school, youth area, and animation facilities.

Speaking at Encamp parish council's extraordinary session that afternoon, which approved aid measures for affected traders, Serrano Pentinat stressed institutional backing. "We have come up to accompany the people and you have all our support," he said. Acknowledging challenges from the closure, he added: "There is concern, but also good will." He urged commitment amid difficulties, stating: "We are fleeting, but we must spend our lives doing good, and here we are, to do good for those who need it." He wished "good work" to officials and the community.

The day aligned with morning Council of Ministers and afternoon Encamp council meetings in the border parish, both endorsing support packages for the business sector. The visit ended with Serrano Pentinat presiding over the 7:30pm Ash Wednesday mass at Sant Pere del Pas church, concelebrated by parish rector Mn. Àlex Vargas and attended by Encamp authorities. The service launched Lent, a 40-day period of reflection, fasting, and abstinence ahead of Easter.
