Escaldes-Engordany council has awarded contracts worth more than €146,300 for renovation work at two sites: the first floor of Espai Jovent and a disused building in Engolasters set to become a youth colony house. Both projects went to the same firm, Constructora Immobiliària Carracedo SA, with details published in the Official Bulletin of the Principality of Andorra (BOPA) on Wednesday.
The Espai Jovent contract, originally budgeted at around €70,000, was finalised at €73,135.11 including IGI tax. Work must be completed within 25 days and will reconfigure the space to include a single office and a large activities room.
Separately, the council greenlit the second phase of converting the Engolasters building, focusing on interior reforms to create bedrooms. The lower floor will accommodate about 10 beds, with a similar layout planned for the upper level. This contract, estimated at €70,000, came in at €73,222.67 and carries a 55-day deadline.
These awards mark continued progress on upgrading youth facilities in the parish, building on prior efforts to modernise Espai Jovent and repurpose underused structures in Engolasters.
