Escaldes-Engordany Consolidates Municipal Services in New Fener Facility

Escaldes-Engordany parish council has started interior fit-out works this week on premises along Avinguda del Fener, with the goal of consolidating various municipal services now scattered across rented locations in the parish.

The upgraded spaces, totalling more than 1,100 square metres, will accommodate the traffic services, citizen attention office, public space occupancy area, textile and glass workshops, and a multipurpose room. Parish officials say the move will end rental expenses and deliver larger facilities tailored to modern requirements, while improving overall service organisation.

The project has a €1.3 million budget and an expected duration of 18 weeks, allowing traffic services to relocate there in the second half of summer. Starting Monday, 9 March, traffic permit processing will move temporarily from council offices to the Salita building on Carrer Josep Viladomat, where it will remain until the Fener site is ready.

The premises joined public assets in 2021 via an in-kind payment for construction tax, bolstering the parish's infrastructure. Council representatives emphasise that the initiative advances the modernisation of public equipment to ensure more efficient, functional, and accessible services for residents.
