Escaldes-Engordany introduces reduced morning pool and gym pass
The commune has launched an €18 morning combined monthly pass (22% off) to boost off-peak use while most other pool and gym fees rise in the 2026.

The commune of Escaldes-Engordany has introduced a reduced-price morning monthly pass for access to the municipal pool and gym to encourage use during a typically quiet time of day. The new morning combined pass costs €18, a 22% reduction compared with the standard all-day combined monthly fee of €23. The couple’s pass at the same account is reduced to €32.50 from €41, a cut of about 21%.
Other pool and gym fees for 2026, set out in the recently approved public price ordinance and published in the Official Bulletin (BOPA), have risen across the board. Entry for children under five remains free. Adult single-entry tickets increase from €5.10 to €5.50 (8%). A ten-entry pass goes from €46.05 to €47.50 (3%). The combined single entry for pool and gym rises from €12.80 to €13.50 (5.5%).
Monthly and combined passes also see smaller increases: the aquatic monthly (pool only) moves from €15.35 to €16 (4.2%); the combined pool and fitness monthly from €44.50 to €46 (3.4%); the pool, fitness and gym combined pass from €50.50 to €52 (3%). The family aquatic pass (couple with one or more children) increases from €34.55 to €35.50 (2.75%), and the single-parent family aquatic pass from €20.70 to €21.50 (3.9%).
The commune reports that opening the pool and gym on Sundays has been successful. Since expanding Sunday hours to 9:00–15:00 after a three-month pilot, there has been an average of around 40 users each Sunday. Currently about 1,800 people hold memberships for the pool and gym, with 72 on the waiting list.
At the most recent council session the commune awarded a contract to an external company to supply the staff needed to operate the facilities year-round. The council described subcontracting as a flexible and efficient solution.
