A woman in Andorra la Vella, aware that she was about to be dismissed from her job as a makeup artist and sales assistant at a shop, duplicated the keys she used to access the premises before her termination took effect.
Using the copied keys, she entered the store in the early hours of the morning and stole high-end products. The shop owner, suspecting the former employee, alerted the police, who questioned her. The woman admitted to both duplicating the keys and carrying out the theft.
The investigation led to a search of her home, where officers found additional items stolen from the same store. She confessed to a second incident three days earlier, in which she had also used the duplicate keys to take more high-end goods during the night.
The total value of the stolen products amounted to 2,157 euros.
The accused, who had no prior criminal record, accepted responsibility for the offences and expressed remorse. A court convicted her of aggravated theft using false keys, sentencing her to nine months' suspended prison time, provided she commits no new offence within two years.
