The National Housing Institute (INH) has launched applications for 24 affordable rental apartments in Block I of the Ribasol Ski-Park complex in Arinsal, La Massana parish.

The process opened on Tuesday, 24 February, following approval by the INH's Director Committee and publication in Wednesday's Official Bulletin (BOPA). It targets individuals and families registered in the Affordable Housing Applicants' Register before 23 February, with submissions accepted until 10 March 2026. The INH will notify eligible applicants directly, assigning units based on household composition and available types.

These 24 fully renovated units are the first batch from roughly 70 public housing apartments in the complex, acquired from La Massana commune after the Astra project stalled. The government intends to reserve eight for emergency needs. Delivered painted and unfurnished, the apartments feature kitchens equipped with ceramic hobs, ovens and extractor hoods. The building has an elevator. The units include nine studios combining living, dining, kitchen and bedroom areas; six one-bedroom apartments; and seven two-bedroom ones. One one-bedroom and one two-bedroom unit are adapted for people with permanent reduced mobility. Sizes range from 37.67 to 91.29 square metres, with initial affordable rents from €298.84 to €725.68 monthly. Some offer terraces or attached storage rooms, which cannot be rented separately.

The call also allocates up to 12 basement parking spaces at €80 per month, adjustable annually by the IPC index. From 31 underground spots shared between Blocks I and II, this phase prioritises Block I tenants with vehicles.

Final rents will equal 30% of a household's regular income, capped at market rates minus 25%. Qualifying households unable to cover the affordable rent can seek rental assistance to bridge the gap.

Register evaluations may take up to two months. With further public calls planned, the INH urges those needing affordable housing to enrol promptly.
