The Ordino municipal council and the University of Andorra (UdA) signed a collaboration agreement on Wednesday, establishing a framework for joint work in training, research, and knowledge transfer.
The five-year deal, which can be extended, will allow Ordino to host UdA students for unpaid training placements as well as bachelor's and master's final projects, depending on the council's resources and needs. It also opens the door to shared research and management initiatives of mutual interest.
The signing took place in the council chamber in Ordino, with Mayor Maria del Mar Coma and UdA Rector Juli Minoves putting pen to paper. Coma described the partnership as "a stroke of luck" for the council, praising the university as a leading institution in the country with growing influence across society. She emphasised the role of public administrations in fostering exchanges between organisations to build a more competitive and better-educated society.
Minoves highlighted how the agreement strengthens commitment to local talent and second-cycle university studies, giving special mention to the Data Analytics master's programme offered at the UdA's Centre for Business and Technology Studies. "The council is opening its doors to students and their projects for the next five years," he said, thanking Ordino for its hospitality.
A follow-up commission, with representatives from both sides, will coordinate and oversee activities under the agreement.
