The municipal Tràmits service in Sant Julià de Lòria, located at the El Molí building on Avinguda Rocafort, will soon consolidate both postal offices operating in the parish under one roof.
La Poste has already vacated its shared premises with Correos at Plaça Major, effective today. The Spanish postal service Correos will follow shortly, allowing the local authority to unify operations and make better use of resources. Communal sources explained that the current volume of packages and administrative tasks has dropped sharply—particularly customs-related matters—compared to previous levels.
The arrangement stems from changes made in April 2022, when La Poste relocated to the Plaça Major site to handle a surge in parcel volumes. At the time, Correos also needed to leave its prior location, leading to the temporary co-location of both services. Those premises operated limited hours, and with demand now reduced, officials deemed it practical to shift everything to El Molí, where the Tràmits service already manages similar administrative functions.
The move frees up the rented ground-floor space at Plaça Major for new initiatives aimed at revitalising the area, though specifics remain under discussion.
