Six Tourists Arrested for Drug Possession at Andorra Borders and Clubs

Police have arrested six tourists in recent days for drug possession offences at Andorra's borders and nightlife venues, including three 32-year-old men caught Thursday morning at the French-Andorran border with 5.4 grams of cocaine.

The three men, all from the Valencia region, raised suspicions during a vehicle check at the Pas de la Casa frontier post as they sought to enter for a short holiday. Officers urged them to hand over any contraband voluntarily to avoid a search by drug-sniffing dogs. The group admitted carrying the cocaine for personal recreational use during their stay. Authorities seized the total of 5.4 grams and charged them with public health violations for possession and attempted importation. They appeared before a judge that afternoon under fast-track procedures and received conditional fines.

The arrests form part of a broader police operation. On Tuesday afternoon, a 27-year-old man was detained at the Riu Runer border with half an ecstasy pill. Thursday night saw another arrest there—a 36-year-old carrying 3.3 grams of tusi. Early Friday morning, a sixth tourist was apprehended outside a Soldeu nightclub with 0.8 grams of amphetamine.

Police have not released further details on the individuals' nationalities beyond the Valencians or indicated if the cases are linked.
