Andorran Statistics Council Approves New Internal Regulations for Efficiency

The Andorran Statistics Council (CAE) approved a new internal regulation on organisation and functioning on Tuesday, chaired by Conxita Marsol, Minister of the Presidency, Economy, Employment and Housing, who oversees statistics.

The measure forms part of implementing Law 27/2025 on the 2026-2029 Statistical Plan. It aims to improve the council's operational efficiency and promote more effective participation by its members. Key elements include specific rules on substitute members for cases of absence, temporary incapacity, incompatibility or prolonged vacancies, in keeping with existing laws. The regulation also outlines members' rights and duties, recognises the council's power to self-organise, and strengthens its internal operating framework.

This step paves the way for final approval by the Council of Ministers. Upon validation, the new text will replace current regulations and consolidate them into a single updated document.

The CAE serves as a consultative body with 18 members representing the government, General Council, communes, public bodies, and economic, trade union and social entities tied to Andorra's statistical system. It brings together producers, users and informants of official statistics to support institutions in better managing public data governance. The council meets in ordinary session at least once a year.
