The 51st plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie (APF) ended on Sunday in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where Andorra's delegation took part in key debates on multilateralism, state sovereignty, gender equality, education, and parliamentary affairs.

Andorra's group was headed by Marc Magallon, with Núria Segués and Pere Marsenyach also attending. In the general debate, they addressed global challenges and the need to balance interstate cooperation with national independence. Magallon highlighted the APF's diversity across sizes, regions, and traditions as a core strength. He noted that it enables a dialogue space where all voices are heard, differences are valued, and solidarity respects sovereignty.

Magallon also spoke in the Political Affairs Commission, detailing Andorra's political landscape, as did his colleagues. Segués joined the Network of Women Parliamentarians to assess reports on young women's civic engagement, female political leadership, and gender parity in the Francophone area. The group reviewed legislative progress on equality, including Cameroon's context, with Segués outlining Andorra's achievements and ongoing hurdles. She further contributed to the Education, Culture, and Communication Commission, exploring digital teaching prospects and barriers.

Marsenyach participated in the Parliamentary Affairs Commission, emphasising Andorra's approaching legislative elections amid updates on member states' parliamentary activities.

The delegation held a separate meeting with Gabriel Fandja, head of Cameroon's National Assembly Education Commission, to discuss education systems in both nations.

Running alongside was the Francophone Youth Parliament, represented by Andorran teens Clara Vila and Isaac Cabases. They worked in groups with youth from the APF's four regions and joined a combined session. Peers chose Vila as spokesperson to deliver the four resolutions approved by the youth forum to the main assembly.
