Andorra Approves €14,400 for ICC Victims Fund and Hague Law Scholarships

The Andorran government has approved voluntary contributions totaling €14,400 to the International Criminal Court (ICC) Victims Trust Fund and the Hague Academy of International Law.

Of this amount, €10,000 will go to the ICC's Victims Trust Fund, which supports victims of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes by addressing their physical, psychological, and material needs. Following the Foreign Affairs ministry's ongoing focus, the donation will target gender-sensitive programs in the Central African Republic. The country has experienced repeated armed conflicts since independence in 1960, leaving many women and girls as victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

The remaining €4,400 supports the Hague Academy of International Law, a leading institution for public and private international law education founded in 1923. The funds will finance two €2,200 scholarships for international students in 2027—one for the summer course and one for the winter session. The Foreign Affairs ministry has made similar voluntary contributions in recent years to enable such scholarships. In addition, the Education and Higher Education ministry provides separate funding for a scholarship available to an Andorran student or resident.

The academy hosts annual summer and winter courses that draw participants from across the globe.
