Andorra Endavant Welcomes 68 Files on Family Reunification Irregularities

Andorra Endavant has hailed the government's opening of 68 files into potential irregularities in family reunification cases, viewing it as confirmation of its push for tighter immigration oversight.

The opposition party, led by Carine Montaner, described the administrative action as a step in the right direction, aligning with demands it has raised throughout the legislative term. In a recent statement, the group stressed that the files represent just an initial measure, not the end of the process.

It pointed to cases involving individuals who have reportedly resided irregularly in Andorra for two to five years without detection, underscoring gaps in monitoring systems. Andorra Endavant called for improved detection mechanisms, greater coordination among government services, and swift resolution of irregularities in full compliance with existing laws.

The party advocated a "zero tolerance" stance on illegal immigration and related crime, while insisting that regulations apply equally to all. It emphasised preventing prolonged undetected cases through stronger checks to avoid fraud or abuse in reunification processes.

Andorra Endavant reiterated that most immigrants in the Principality live legally, working and bolstering the economy. Its proposals target only unlawful situations, aiming for an "ordered, controlled" policy that matches the country's capacity, without affecting compliant residents who contribute through employment and taxes.
