A man accused of fatally stabbing his partner has admitted to the killing and will appear before the Batllia within a maximum of 48 hours, the Government of Andorra has confirmed. He turned himself in at police stations after acknowledging responsibility for the attack, which took place on the Carretera de la Comella.

The suspect had been attending the Government's Non-Violent Relationships Programme voluntarily since 2025, according to Minister of Social Affairs Molné and Secretary of State for Equality Mariona Cadena, and had not yet completed it. The programme is run through the Service for the Care of Victims of Gender Violence.

Cadena said the victim had been contacted by the service, but declined to take part. Although the administration was aware of a possible situation because of the man's involvement in the rehabilitation workshops, Molné said "no penal action was activated" because no prior complaint had been filed.

The statements were made during a minute of silence held in memory of the victim at Plaça Lidia Armengol. Both officials condemned the killing and extended their condolences to the victim's family. Molné declined to provide details about the suspect's background or the circumstances of the attack.

The investigation remains under judicial control. The Gender Violence Victim Support hotline, 181, is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
