Andorran Councillor Demands Fire Safety Details After Querola Blaze

Laia Moliné, a Social Democratic Party councillor, has pressed the Andorran government with written questions on fire prevention measures planned for the Querola residential complex, located near woodland.

The general councillor from the PS wants to know about the prevention, detection, and alert systems in place during construction at the site. She has asked which inspections occurred before the fire and which remained outstanding.

Moliné is also seeking the basis for the government's decision to rule out changes to construction regulations in the fire's aftermath. She questions whether officials will reconsider once the investigation concludes.

In her submission, the councillor calls for updates to the 1981 fire safety rules. She proposes adding specific requirements for buildings close to forested areas, covering protection zones, vegetation management, construction materials, emergency service access, and European standards on fire reaction and resistance.
