2,559 Andalusians in Andorra Eligible to Vote in May 17 Regional Elections

Andalusian residents in Andorra, numbering 2,559 according to the Oficina del Cens Electoral, are eligible to vote in the region's autonomous elections on 17 May. This figure, stable compared to recent years, underscores the significant presence of the Andalusian community in the Principality amid broader migration patterns linked to services and employment opportunities.

The elections will renew the Parliament of Andalusia and the government led by Juanma Moreno of the Partido Popular. Scheduled slightly earlier than the typical summer date, they include provisions for around 302,000 Spaniards abroad across 157 countries—about 4.4% of the total electorate. While Andorra trails larger hubs like Argentina, France, and Germany, its voter count remains notable relative to other nations with Spanish expatriates. Provincially, Malaga, Granada, and Almeria dominate the overseas rolls, a trend partially mirrored in Andorra's community.

The Spanish consulate in Andorra is managing preparations, with the deadline to review the electoral roll and file claims ending Monday. Once finalized, it will lock in the precise voter tally.

Under recent legislative updates, eligible voters will receive ballots and documentation from all parties directly at their homes, eliminating the need for prior requests. They can submit votes by mail via Correos offices throughout Andorra or in person at the consulate's polling station from 9 to 14 May.

Polling hours are set at 10:45am-1:45pm and 2:45pm-4:45pm on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May. From Monday 11 to Thursday 14, the station operates 10am-2pm and 3pm-5pm.
