Key Points

  • Total €100,000 approved for voluntary contributions under the Andorran Cooperation Master Plan.
  • ICRC to receive €30,000: €10,000 for Haiti relief and €20,000 for broader humanitarian activities.
  • CERF allocated €20,000 to accelerate responses to natural, climatic and human-made disasters.
  • WFP €30,000 (€15k for Sahrawi camp nutrition, €15k for Mauritania school feeding); UNRWA €20,000 for Gaza-area operations.

The Government approved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ proposal to grant voluntary contributions totalling €100,000 to international humanitarian organisations, in line with the priorities of the Andorran Cooperation Master Plan.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will receive €10,000 earmarked for its work in Haiti, a country facing extreme humanitarian fragility that was further hit by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025 amid weak infrastructure and widespread violence. A further €20,000 is allocated to the ICRC’s broader humanitarian activities.

The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) will receive €20,000. Established around two decades ago, CERF is designed to speed up and improve responses to natural, climatic and human-made disasters, to alleviate civilian suffering, and to support transition and reconstruction efforts that help prevent crises from spiralling.

The World Food Programme (WFP) will receive €30,000. Of this, €15,000 will reinforce nutritional assistance in Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria and €15,000 will support school feeding programmes in Mauritania for refugee children from Mali and neighbouring conflict areas.

Finally, €20,000 is allocated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to support its humanitarian operations in territories affected by the Gaza crisis.
