The Government has approved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ proposal to award €100,000 in voluntary contributions to international humanitarian organisations.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will receive €10,000 specifically for its operations in Haiti and an additional €20,000 for its broader humanitarian activities. Haiti has faced prolonged humanitarian fragility, a situation worsened by Hurricane Melissa, which struck in October 2025 amid weak infrastructure and widespread violence.
The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) will receive €20,000. Created around two decades ago, CERF is designed to speed and improve responses to natural, climatic and human-made disasters, to alleviate civilian suffering and to provide assistance during transitions and reconstruction.
The World Food Programme (WFP) will receive €30,000. That sum is split between two priority lines of action: €15,000 to reinforce nutritional assistance in Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria and €15,000 to support school feeding programmes in Mauritania for refugee children from Mali and neighbouring conflict areas.
Finally, €20,000 has been allocated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to support its humanitarian operations in territories affected by the Gaza crisis.
According to the government, the contributions align with the criteria and priorities set out in the Andorran Cooperation Master Plan.
