Andorra can participate in the third and fourth calls for projects under the European Interreg-Sudoe programme for 2021-2027, which aims to strengthen cross-border cooperation across southwestern Europe.

The programme covers 26 regions in Spain, Portugal, southern France, and Andorra. Local entities are eligible to join consortia but cannot lead initiatives or access FEDER funding. Prior calls have funded 76 transnational projects to advance regional development and territorial cohesion.

The third call provides €5,355,244 for efforts on water resource management, agricultural and forestry supply chains, or population ageing. Consortia must incorporate research centres or universities, specialised agencies or associations, public authorities, and thematic networks from the eligible area.

The fourth call allocates €8,768,940.70 overall, including €5,768,940.70 for wildfire prevention and management and €3 million for ageing initiatives. Projects must show significant territorial coverage, support integration into public policies, and enable scaling after completion. Wildfire proposals require national civil protection or risk management bodies, regional or local authorities, and operational intervention services from Spain, France, and Portugal. Ageing efforts need national health or social policy entities, plus regional and operational partners from those countries.

Applications for both calls must be submitted by 30 September through the eSudoe2127 platform. Support webinars are set for 19 May (third call) and 21 May (fourth call), both from 09:45 to 13:15. More details appear at interreg-sudoe.eu/3a-convocatoria/ and interreg-sudoe.eu/4a-convocatoria/. Andorran organisations should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at 875 704 for assistance.
