Andorra la Vella — Carine Montaner, president of the Andorra Endavant (AE) parliamentary group, said foreign investment should not be rejected when it helps boost state revenue. Speaking during Thursday’s debate on the amendment to the Golden Rule law at the General Council, she argued that investors who bring fiscal income to the country are welcome and should be given the “red carpet,” because “revenues do not fall from the sky.”
Montaner stressed that AE supports forms of foreign investment that add value and generate income, and opposed those who come merely to “take advantage of the country.” In such cases she said authorities should expel people who exploit the system and refuse to renew their residency.
Responding to criticism from the Social Democratic Party, Andorra Endavant reiterated that the state’s main revenues depend on tourism and the broader business sector.
