CC Leader Denies Massana Social Media Posts Are Election Campaign
Jordi Verdaguer of Ciutadans Compromesos says recent posts highlight achievements, not votes, while confirming readiness for elections and Liberal.
Key Points
- CC posts highlight achievements, not future projects or vote calls.
- Party ready for elections in 2027 or sooner.
- Ongoing talks with Liberals, no ties to Acció.
- Guiding principle: What's good for La Massana is good for Andorra.
Jordi Verdaguer, president of the Massana-based party Ciutadans Compromesos (CC), has dismissed suggestions that his group's recent social media activity signals an election campaign. Instead, he described the posts as efforts to highlight the party's past and ongoing achievements in the parish.
Verdaguer emphasised that a genuine campaign would focus on future projects and calls for votes, which CC is not doing at present. "We want to communicate what we have done and are doing, but we are not running an electoral campaign," he said. The party remains ready for elections whenever they occur, whether as scheduled in 2027 or earlier. "Ciutadans Compromesos is prepared for elections at any moment," Verdaguer stated, adding that the decision lies beyond their control.
On potential alliances, Verdaguer confirmed ongoing communication with Liberals but ruled out any involvement with Acció. He described this arrangement as providing "security for everyone" and offering practical support to Consell General parliamentarian Víctor Pintos, enabling him to carry out his duties with additional resources.
The comments come amid a series of short social media updates from CC's elected officials, which some observers have interpreted as foreshadowing a snap vote. Verdaguer reiterated the party's guiding principle: "What is good for La Massana is good for Andorra." No firm agreements on coalitions have been reached, he added.
