Encamp Councillor Questions Public Works Delays and Communication Failures

Marta Pujol, councillor for the Avancem group on Encamp's Comú council, has submitted three questions for the requests and queries section of the upcoming council meeting. The queries seek clarification on public works projects and their effects across the parish.

Her initial concern centres on the Avinguda Joan Martí remodelling. Local residents have voiced frustration over poor communication from the Comú and unaddressed worries. The information session came too late, after traffic restrictions on Carrer de la Molina took effect and site work was underway. Among resident requests was extending the interior gallery through the already renovated section, but the Public Works and Urbanism Department rejected it, deeming it unviable due to limited demand and high costs, as outlined in the relevant commission. Pujol wants assurance that this reasoning has reached affected neighbours and their concerns have been properly handled.

The second question examines recent cost supplements granted to Suport Enginyers Consultors, SAU, for the Cramea access road build—amounting to €96,294.46 and €1,829.60. Given the project's long delays and prior multimillion-euro public investment, she presses for a clear projection on completing the road and opening the Icònic centre. She also asks whether execution deadlines featured in the agreement with the Government and private investor.

Finally, Pujol addresses ongoing French-side road closures restricting Pas de la Casa access. With talks among relevant authorities failing to deliver solutions, she questions whether the Comú plans any support measures or campaigns to offset the economic damage to local businesses.
