Majoral Proposes Right-Wing Bloc for Andorran Elections

Josep Majoral, former consul of Sant Julià de Lòria and current opposition leader, has proposed forming a broad right-wing political bloc ahead of the next general elections. Speaking in the parish, he expressed surprise at recent public reports suggesting a potential agreement between Demòcrates and Desperta Laurèdia, noting that the latter currently aligns with Concòrdia in the General Council without any apparent internal conflicts.

Majoral clarified that his own party, Unió Laurediana, has held no discussions with Demòcrates. Instead, he advocates regrouping the right into a coalition to counter the left-leaning alliance of Concòrdia, PS, and Desperta Laurèdia. He envisions the bloc including Virtus, which he described as having a clear right-wing project and national model; the recently reunified Liberals and Acció; Unió Laurediana itself; and Carine Montaner's group, despite its distinct messaging, for sharing similar ideology.

The initiative draws inspiration from the historic Andorran Liberal Party, which once united many members of today's conservative formations. Majoral emphasised ongoing informal meetings with representatives from other parties and projects to build momentum.

He stressed the need for consensus on a unified national project among the groups, with the bloc's candidate selected jointly by all participants. No formal agreements have been announced, and details on timelines remain unclear.
