Pere Font Moles, long‑time Encamp politician and printer, dies aged 99

Pere Font Moles died on 12 December 2025 at the age of 99. The family is receiving visitors at the Tanatori Nacional d’Encamp today from 10:00–13:00 and 16:00–20:00, and a funeral mass will be held tomorrow at 12:00 at the church of Santa Eulàlia d’Encamp. The Comú d’Encamp and the Consell General posted messages of condolence on social media.

Font Moles was a long‑standing figure in Encamp’s public life. He served as cònsol menor of Encamp around 1960–61, working alongside Enric París Torres, and was a communal councillor in 1962–63. He was elected to the General Council for two separate terms, from 1964 to 1967 and again from 1970 to 1973, and has been described as one of the politicians associated with the “aperturist” current linked to the Reig brothers.

In 1950 he founded Impremta Principat, widely regarded as Andorra’s first printing house, a business that became a notable cultural and commercial presence in Encamp and across the country. He remained engaged in civic life in later years, was active in the Rotary Club of Andorra, and appeared among local figures during President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Andorra in 2019. In 2014 the Comú d’Encamp honoured him with a commemorative plaque recognizing his long connection to the parish.

Born into the Ca l’Areny family of Encamp, Font Moles was also known for his property and business interests in the parish.
