Rosa Gili, Escaldes-Engordany's cònsol major, has firmly denied any intention of forming alliances with Concòrdia or any other party ahead of upcoming elections, directly addressing Partit Socialista (PS) claims that her potential inclusion on its lists would prevent pacts with the group.
In statements to the Andorran News Agency, Gili insisted she has never expressed such a willingness, saying she cannot stand for communal re-election anyway and questioning the basis of the PS position. She called the focus on her personal role "quite surreal," arguing that discussions should centre on pressing issues like housing, CASS pensions, and Andorra's future instead. Gili suggested the PS stance may not reflect a unified decision, noting that "not everyone there necessarily agrees" and some within the party might hold that view.
On the recent collapse of the Consens coalition, Gili described the PS's actions as "very hard to understand." She clarified that there was no issue with the party itself, only with councillor David Pérez over his "questionable actions," which led to his temporary removal. Pérez then "built his own narrative, which the PS bought into," she said, adding that she now has no relationship with him.
Gili praised councillor Maria Carriço for her consistency through the dispute, expressing relief at continuing to work with her. She described Carriço as a committed team player who integrates well with the group and embodies the qualities expected of a communal representative.
The PS has not yet responded to Gili's comments.
