Andorran freerider Joan Aracil secured ninth place in the fourth round of the FWT Challenger series, the Open Face Obertauren Challenger in Austria.
The achievement on Saturday earned him 1,770 points, propelling him to 19th in the overall standings. Ahead of events in Italy and France, Aracil described the result as a confidence builder after multiple falls this season.
"I'm happy with this ninth place, even though I know I could have done more on the descent. I wanted to play it safe a bit after so many falls this season and regain some confidence," he said.
Aracil's schedule continues with the Monterosa Freeride Paradise Challenger in Italy from March 26 to 29, then the Le Sauze South Line Series Challenger in France from April 2 to 5.
