Gerard de la Casa finished second in the Turismo category at the 26th Pujada a Callús-Sant Mateu hill climb, part of the Campionat de Catalunya de Muntanya, though he placed fourth overall, just over a second shy of the general podium.
The event, the second round of the championship and organised by Moto Club Manresa, attracted more than 70 competitors on the 4.905-kilometre course between Callús and Sant Mateu. Jordi Vilardell claimed outright victory, dominating the classifications, while Spanish driver Joan Gil took second overall and won the CM Promoció category. In Turismo, De la Casa, from Baporo Motorsport, trailed winner Jordi Gaig in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, with Luis Aguilera third in a Honda Civic.
Local resident Pol Tarrés finished tenth in the overall standings. The next round is the Pujada a la Trona in Osona on 23-24 May.
