FC Andorra Fall 0-2 to Ceuta After Early Red and Own Goal

FC Andorra suffered a 0-2 home defeat to Ceuta in their final match of the season at the Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp, played before 2,121 spectators. The loss leaves the team on 58 points in 13th position, one short of their record 59-point haul from a previous Segunda División campaign, with a trip to Burgos still to come.

The game turned early when referee Alejandro Ojaos showed Petxa a straight red card in the ninth minute for a high-footed challenge on Anuar. Moments later, from the resulting goal kick, a miscommunication between goalkeeper Nico Ratti and Martí Vilà saw the defender's backpass bounce awkwardly into the net for an own goal (11th minute). Ratti, returning after limited action this season, was substituted at halftime for Achilles tendon discomfort, replaced by Owono.

Despite playing with 10 men for over 80 minutes—and briefly nine after Marc Cardona's injury forced his withdrawal for Manu Nieto around the half-hour mark—Andorra dominated possession and created chances. Cerdà linked play effectively, setting up Carrique for a close-range effort saved by Ceuta keeper Pedro López. Villahermosa tested López from a free kick, while Nieto forced saves and went close in the box before halftime. Opportunities continued after the break, including efforts from Lautaro, Minsu, and Cerdà, but poor final decisions prevented a breakthrough.

Ceuta doubled their lead in the 66th minute when Betancourt outjumped Vilà to head down a cross, allowing Bassinga to finish first-time. A lengthy VAR check for offside on Owono was cleared, confirming the goal. Ten minutes of added time proved insufficient as Andorra tired.

Coach Carles Manso expressed frustration with the officiating, describing the red card as a "very quick way to spoil this match" that should have been a "celebration" for fans after a strong season end. He highlighted constant interruptions, time-wasting, and failure to add sufficient stoppage time, saying it sometimes felt teams trying to play were disadvantaged. Still, he praised his side's personality and effort. Midfielder Marc Domènech echoed this, noting good attitude despite the "slowed" game.

Defensive injuries compounded issues: absentees included Bomba, Molina, Imanol, and suspended Alende, with more challenges ahead at Burgos where Petxa and Gael Alonso will also miss out, and Owono the sole available goalkeeper.
