Andorra's national athletics team ended 14th out of 15 nations at the European Athletics Challenger in Monaco, concluding competition on Sunday with two silver medals and a bronze.
Pol Moya, competing for FC Barcelona and the Andorran Athletics Federation, starred with silver in the 800 metres in 1:49.44 and silver again in the 1,500 metres in 3:45.50. Ariadna Fenés, known as "Ari," took bronze in the 5,000 metres with a national record time of 16:55.41, surpassing the mark set by Silvia Felipó in 2002.
Cristina Martins also set an Andorran record in the 800 metres, placing sixth in 2:11.18—six hundredths quicker than her previous best. Aroa Carballo narrowly missed the podium with fourth in the 400 metres hurdles and sixth in the 400 metres flat. Pau Blasi finished eighth in the 400 metres.
The team totalled 32 points. Cyprus led with 127 points, ahead of Malta on 111 and Luxembourg with 104.
