Andorra Women's Volleyball Falls 0-3 to Faroe Islands in Second Straight Loss

Andorra's women's volleyball team suffered a second straight defeat at the European Small Nations Championship, falling 0-3 to the Faroe Islands at Pavelló Toni Martí in Andorra la Vella.

The young squad coached by Lluís Hillaire struggled to maintain consistency against a superior Faroese side, which won the Group A match with set scores of 6-25, 11-25, and 21-25. Andorra could not build on the promise shown in their opener, where they lost 0-3 to Ireland (20-25, 13-25, 11-25). In that debut, the team displayed energy and organisation in a competitive first set before Ireland pulled away. The Faroe Islands, who had earlier beaten Ireland 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-23), controlled key moments with stronger serving and better game management.

Both losses leave Andorra with limited margin for error in the group stage. The roster, missing key resident players from recent competitions like the Jeux des Petits États, has competed with pride despite the challenges.

In other Group A action, the Faroe Islands' victory over Ireland strengthens their position. Group B saw Scotland claim a second win by beating Malta 3-1, while San Marino remained unbeaten, securing three victories including a 3-0 over Liechtenstein.

The tournament, hosted by European volleyball bodies for the continent's smaller nations, continues at the venue. Andorra's next match schedule has not yet been detailed by organisers.
