FC Andorra defeated Gimnàstic de Tarragona 2-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, their fourth match of the summer and third consecutive win, maintaining an unbeaten record with three victories and one draw.
Jordi Cano marked his first start for the club with a goal in the ninth minute. Marc Domènech won possession high up the pitch and set up Cano, who finished with a low cross-shot across goal for the opener. Minutes later, in the 37th, Cano won a penalty after Joseda Menargues handled the ball in the area, but he dragged his effort wide.
Pau López started in goal for Andorra, replacing Nico Ratti from the previous game against Inter Club d'Escaldes. Coach Carles Manso made several changes to the lineup, bringing in Bomba, Marc Domènech, Carrique, Nacho Quintana and Golubovic from the bench, while Efe Akman, Schneider, Andoni López and Alende were the only players to retain their starting places. Nàstic began with more possession but struggled to create chances, and López had little to do before the break.
Nàstic made widespread changes at half-time and created their best opportunity in the 77th minute when Gómez struck the side netting. Andorra, who introduced Gael Alonso and Tiago early in the second half before later adding Aron Rodrigo and Juan Sebastián, remained comfortable despite the heat slowing the tempo. They went close twice more, only for Gaizka Ayesa to deny them.
Hugo Solozábal sealed the result in the 85th minute, sliding in after a through ball from Martí Vilà. The clean sheet highlighted Andorra's physical edge over Nàstic, who were playing their first pre-season game.
