FC Andorra Blows 2-0 Lead in Late Collapse, Loses 4-2 to Celta Fortuna

FC Andorra coach Carles Manso admitted his side failed to adapt after taking a 2-0 lead, allowing Celta Fortuna to mount a late comeback for a 4-2 victory at Abanca Balaídos in Primera RFEF.

Standing in for owners Gerard Piqué and Jaume Nogués, Manso described the collapse as a failure to read the game's demands. "With the 0-2 and a match that seemed to be going our way, we didn't know how to interpret what the moment was asking of us," he said. The team, which had controlled proceedings for over an hour through solid pressing and defending far from their goal, stuck to the same high-tempo approach even as Celta Fortuna switched structure. What had been a strength turned into a trap.

Hugo López, the Villarreal loanee who scored both Andorra goals, expressed deep frustration afterward. "We're fucked, really fucked, and I can't explain it," he said. "When we relax, these things happen to us. My goals don't mean much if they don't help us get points and we end up losing."

Andorra switched between 5-2-3 and 5-4-1 formations in a dominant first half, congesting the midfield despite Celta Fortuna's pace. Goalkeeper Pau López denied Ángel Arcos and Anxo Rodríguez, while Hugo Solozábal missed a late chance. Up front, Moró Sidibé led the line in place of debutant Golubovic, with Pau Cano and López creating chances against a five-man defense.

López struck first in the 48th minute, volleying in after Anxo Rodríguez's clearance of Diego Alende's shot looped off Solozábal. He added a second three minutes later, finishing Sidibé's pass low past Coke Carrillo following Pablo Meixús's error.

Celta Fortuna responded quickly. Germain Milla crossed for Derrick Somuah's finish in the 54th amid defensive lapses. Andorra introduced Randy Schneider and Nacho Quintana around the 61st, with Schneider twice testing the keeper. VAR correctly ruled out Marc Bombardó's handball from a 74th-minute corner.

The hosts took over late. Milla's run set up Álvaro Marín's 86th-minute equalizer. Julian Rijkhoff hit the bar from Efe Akman's cross, and López saved one-on-one from Kibet. Marín swept home the winner off Kike Ribes's 97th-minute shot, with David Antañón sealing the 4-2 score in the 101st.
