Andorra Football Team Draws 200+ Fans to Open Training Before Malta Clash

Andorra's national football team attracted more than 200 fans to an open training session at Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp on Thursday, building excitement ahead of its UEFA Nations League opener against Malta.

The Andorran Football Federation organised the event, which included inflatable football games, a snack break with fruit and chocolate cake, and an official team photo while players trained on the pitch. Supporters chanted "selecció, selecció!" and "visca Andorra!", with many children—alongside parents—wearing kits from the national team, FC Andorra, Logroñés or Spain.

After training, players tossed balls into the stands and held an autograph session in the stadium hall. Fans sought signatures on balls, flags, a cast from a broken arm and even polo shirts. One young fan asked striker Berto Rosas if he already had his signature, drawing a smile from the forward. The federation aimed to ensure no child left without mementos from the players.

Centre-back Max Llovera described the atmosphere as motivating, saying it felt great to train with such support. He invited fans to the match, calling it the "first final" and urging the country to attend and help the team grow.

Coach Koldo Álvarez de Eulate named five new additions to the squad since the friendly against Kosovo: Èric de Pablos (listed as Depa in prior reports), Max Llovera, Christian García, Èric Vales and Berto Rosas. Excluded from the previous call-up were Chus Rubio, Marc Vales, Nil Linares and Hugo Ferreira. Goalkeeper Marc Castro remains uncapped despite prior selections.

Marc Pujol, a retired player, joins the technical staff as assistant, replacing Igor Labaien.

Malta, led by Italian coach Emilio De Leo, faces Andorra in Friday's debut. No further details on lineups or injuries have emerged.
