BC MoraBanc Andorra Signs Georgian PG Rati Andronikashvili to Two-Month Deal

BC MoraBanc Andorra has signed 25-year-old Georgian point guard Rati Andronikashvili to a two-month contract, bringing him in as a training squad member to bolster the backcourt amid physical issues affecting several players.

The 1.94m player from Tbilisi, who previously played in Spain's Liga Endesa for UCAM Murcia and Casademont Zaragoza, joins coach Žan Tabak's squad. He also spent the 2024-2025 season with Monbus Obradoiro in Primera FEB, and most recently featured for UMF Álftanes in Iceland's top division. Andronikashvili has been a key figure for Georgia's senior national team in recent international windows.

Sporting director Jordi Ardèvol noted that the signing emerged from an unexpected market opportunity driven by the team's injury concerns. "The physical situations of several players and an interesting market chance made this addition possible, which was not initially planned," Ardèvol said. He described Andronikashvili as arriving "at a moment of maturity, after some very good recent games with the Georgian national team," adding that he is "a fast, explosive point guard with a good physique and strong creative ability, especially in play generation and assists."

The move allows Tabak to rotate his point guards more effectively during ACB League games, easing the workload on the current rotation. The club announced the deal from Andorra la Vella on 21 September 2026. A photo of Andronikashvili is available on FIBA's website.
