Pol Moya Shatters Andorran 1500m Record at Pfungstadt Meet

Andorran runner Pol Moya upgraded his national 1500m and 800m records in strong European meets, while Ariadna Fenés smashed the women's 10km mark in France.

Pol Moya has set a new Andorran national record in the 1,500 metres, improving on his own previous mark from two years ago, while also recently lowering his 800 metres best.

Competing for FC Barcelona and the Andorran Athletics Federation (FAA), Moya clocked 3:35.04 at the Pfungstadt meeting in Germany on Saturday, securing third place. He shaved more than half a second off his prior record of 3:35.60. Dutch athlete Noah Baltus won in 3:34.34, with Spain's Adrián Ben from Viveiro in second.

Days earlier, Moya had improved his own Andorran 800 metres record at the International Meeting in Guadalajara, dropping it from 1:46.19 to 1:46.04. The performances cap a strong start to his season, following two medals in Monaco.

FAA athlete Ariadna Fenés, known as 'Ari', also delivered a standout result by breaking the Andorran absolute 10km record at the International Langueux race in France. She finished 17th overall in 34:06, cutting 10 seconds from her previous best. Ethiopia's Robe Dida Diriba claimed victory, with France's Mekdes Woldu and Abebe Bikila completing the podium.
