Pal Arinsal hosted the Trofeu Warriors 2.0 downhill race this weekend as part of the Catalan Cup, drawing more than 160 riders to the 2008 circuit. The 1,300-metre course featured a 268-metre elevation drop from Pla de la Cot to the base of the La Serra II chairlift.

The event aligned with the summer opening of the Bike Park and Bike World. Saturday included free training runs, while Sunday's official competition consisted of a mandatory reconnaissance lap followed by two timed descents, with the fastest time determining final standings.

Catalan junior Marcel Barrachina posted the overall quickest time of 1:53.56, winning his category and beating all Elite riders. Ignasi Jorba claimed the men's Elite title at 1:57.76, ahead of Alex Marin and Pol Font. Cadet Aicard Lluch topped his class with 2:01.98, finishing fourth overall. Among women, cadet Elin Liljengren led with 2:22.69, while Elite rider Marta Perxachs secured first in her group at 2:30.98.

New features for the season included the blue-level Blavet trail and a revamped Commencal Inferior section. The Green Gravity Descent area, connecting the upper Bike Park to the base station for families and beginners, is set to open in July.

The race ran alongside the ANDBike Festival in La Massana, organised by the local council, with exhibitors, brands, family activities and a Demobike session for testing bikes on the circuits.

Pal Arinsal's schedule continues with the Andorra Epic from 2-5 July and the Mountain Bike World Cup from 9-12 July.
