Pidcock and Kuss Headline Stacked Field for Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica

Tom Pidcock and Sepp Kuss lead the provisional entry list for Sunday's Andorra MoraBanc Clàssica, now bolstered by confirmed riders from five WorldTeam squads including Visma-Lease a Bike.

The second edition of the 125km climber's challenge, organized by Lidl-Trek's Andorra resident Carlos Verona, starts at noon from Plaça del Poble in Andorra la Vella. The route covers all parishes with nearly 3,800m of elevation gain, featuring climbs such as Port d'Envalira and Coll d'Ordino, a gravel section on Camí de Les Pardines, and a 14km final ascent to Coll de la Botella. Top riders are due around 4pm, with traffic restrictions expected along the course.

Pidcock of Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, an Olympic mountain bike champion and Tour de France stage winner who has raced elite local MTB events, joins Kuss of Visma-Lease a Bike. The American, 2023 Vuelta a España winner and victor of a Tour stage finishing on Avinguda Tarragona in Andorra, headlines his team's lineup alongside Jørgen Nordhagen—recent runner-up at O Gran Camiño and fourth at Tour de Romandie—plus Tijmen Graat and Italian Davide Piganzoli, both active at the recent Giro d'Italia.

Jonas Vingegaard, recent Giro winner, will not attend as he prepares in Tignes with Visma-Lease a Bike for the Tour de France. Defending champion Mattias Skjelmose of Lidl-Trek is confirmed, along with Canadian teammate Derek Gee. Verona's squad awaits final recovery checks on its WorldTour riders post-recent races.

Kern Pharma fields 2024 Vuelta stage winner Urko Berrade with Iván Ramiro Sosa, Ibon Ruiz, Nil Gimeno, Pablo Carrascosa, Hugo Aznar, and Ibai Azanza. Other ProTeams include Caja Rural-Seguros RGA with Fernando Barceló, Cofidis' Simon Carr, Euskaltel-Euskadi's Txomin Juaristi, Mikel Bizkarra, Iker Mintegi, and Jordi López, and Team Polti VisitMalta led by Fernando Tercero. Additional entries feature Unibet Rose Rockets, EF Education-EasyPost, Burgos BH, Sistecrédito, Movistar, Groupama-FDJ United, TotalEnergies, and Spain's U23 squad with Pablo Torres, Jaime Torres, Francisco Jesús Fernández, Igor Iriarte, Aimar Alarcia, Aimar Tadeo, and Marc Collell.

Local Andorran Cycling Federation riders under technical director Víctor de la Parte include Adrià Regada, Enzo Fuentes, Gerard Mora, Miquel Naudi, Martí Riera, and Thomas Salomon, plus guest Max Palmitjavila.

The race overlaps with the Tour de Suïssa finale, Baloise Belgium Tour, and Tour of Slovenia, plus Saturday's Route d'Occitanie close. A parallel amateur Crono de La Clàssica x Toteem offers a 10km test from Erts to Coll de la Botella, with 700m of climbing at 5-8% gradients. The Tour de France begins July 4 in Barcelona.
