UE Santa Coloma and Rangers Clear Debts to Secure Multisegur League Spots

UE Santa Coloma and Rangers have met the deadline to register for the Multisegur League 2026-2027 by submitting documentation proving they addressed unpaid wages and debts, ensuring the Andorran top flight can proceed with 10 teams next season.

The Andorran Football Federation (FAF) will now review the paperwork from all 10 clubs with sporting rights—the nine from the previous season plus promoted Casa de Portugal—over the coming two weeks. Final validation is expected at the FAF's general assembly on 25 June, likely at Nou Estadi d’Encamp, where officials will also present current accounts, next season's budget, competition formats, and schedules.

Both UE Santa Coloma and Rangers faced exclusion risks due to federation rules requiring clearance of debts to players and the Andorran Social Security Fund (CASS). The registration window closed on Wednesday, prompting last-minute efforts. UE Santa Coloma, hit hardest by recent turmoil including a denied UEFA licence and public player complaints over salaries, installed emergency leadership around 15 days ago with Efrain Martín and Boris Antón at the helm. They secured agreements with players, coaching staff, the youth academy, and other workers, resolving urgent obligations. Club sources confirmed: no debts remain with Andorran institutions, employees, or suppliers. Attention now turns to rebuilding the club's image after a challenging year; just two seasons ago, it claimed the league title and reached Conference League qualifiers.

Rangers cleared its CASS debt of €26,000 this week, securing the required certificate. Club leader Gio Ramírez reported full compliance, including arrangements with affected players—some via signed debt acknowledgements for phased payments. Sources noted the payment also settled a €26,000 immigration service fine published in a BOPA notice on Wednesday.

Penya Encarnada fixed its administrative and financial issues in the final hours, while the other seven clubs filed on time. All 10 registrations now await FAF scrutiny.

UE Santa Coloma plans a charitable tournament this weekend to aid the Kalilu Jammeh Foundation in Gambia and the Andorran Association Against Cancer (ASSANDCA), aiming to spotlight its community efforts amid recent negative coverage. A separate Football Night gala is set for 29 June to honour top performers from the past season.
