Xavi Cardelús Struggles to 25th and 28th at World Supersport Aragon Round

Andorran rider Xavi Cardelús faced a difficult weekend at the MotorLand Aragon circuit during the sixth round of the World Supersport Championship, finishing 25th in Saturday's race and 28th on Sunday.

The troubles began on Friday with a mechanical problem during the morning free practice session. Cardelús then crashed at the start of Superpole, one of more than 15 riders affected by high asphalt temperatures. This restricted the Cerba Yamaha Racing rider to a single timed lap—a 1:55.590 in the closing four minutes—leaving him 28th on the grid, or ninth row.

In Saturday's opener at 12:30, he held on for 25th place. Sunday's race at 14:00 saw him drop to 28th, crossing the line antepenúltim among finishers at the Alcanyís track.

After qualifying, Cardelús highlighted the lack of data collection, saying it would penalize the team the following day and expressing hope to make use of information from the first race on Sunday. Reflecting on the full weekend, he added: "We leave disappointed with the 28th place and the overall balance from a circuit where we hoped to turn things around and change the negative trend. It was not to be."
