Andorra la Vella Hosts Second Cronoescalada del Solà Uphill Time Trial

Andorra la Vella hosted the second edition of the Cronoescalada del Solà time trial on Thursday evening, attracting around 50 riders for a demanding uphill challenge through city streets.

Organized by the commune's Bici Lab Andorra initiative and the Mamba Challenge, the event featured staggered starts from Bici Lab Andorra at 7pm, with participants departing every 30 seconds. Riders followed a neutralised descent along Prat de la Creu to the Tobira roundabout, where the timed one-kilometre ascent began. The course gained more than 100 metres of elevation via Tobira street, the Quatre Camins intersection, Ciutat de Valls street, Mestre Xavier Plana street, and Rec del Solà to the finish. Mixing paved and cobbled surfaces with slopes up to 10%, the route demanded technical skill and stamina from both competitive cyclists and amateurs.

Joan Verdú, professional skier and Mamba Challenge founder, competed with his team. After the racing, Plaza Lídia Armengol hosted a public celebration featuring live music, food trucks, and awards for the top three in men's and women's categories.

The event upheld its charitable mission, with €2 entry fees donated entirely to Bicicletes Sense Fronteres, an NGO aiding vulnerable communities through bicycle programs. Inscriptions closed shortly before the start.
