Andorra la Vella Hosts Second Cronoescalada del Solà Uphill Time Trial

Andorra la Vella's second Cronoescalada del Solà uphill time trial attracted 52 cyclists, with Miquel Naudi and Anna Albalat taking the men's and women's titles respectively.

The one-kilometre urban route began at Bici Lab Andorra and ascended over 100 metres through the Rec del Solà district. Competitors tackled paved and cobbled stretches with gradients up to 10%, demanding strong endurance and precise bike control. Starts were staggered every 30 seconds following a neutralised descent via Prat de la Creu to the Tobira roundabout, where official timing started. From there, the path ran along Tobira street, past the Quatre Camins junction, Ciutat de Valls street, Mestre Xavier Plana street, and on to the finish line.

Naudi, riding for the FAM team, led the men in 2:57. Oscar Moscardo placed second in 2:58, with Arnau Blancafort third at 3:03. Albalat of Andona won the women's category in 3:54, followed by Miren Miquel in 4:22 and Laura Jordán in 5:19.

Joan Verdú, a professional skier and founder of the Mamba Challenge, served as event ambassador, launching proceedings and competing with his squad. Run by the commune's Bici Lab Andorra and Mamba Challenge, the race served as an appetizer for the main Mamba Challenge event held the following day.

Riders paid a €2 entry fee, with all proceeds directed to Bicicletes Sense Fronteres to aid bicycle projects in vulnerable communities. The evening wrapped up festively at Plaza Lídia Armengol, featuring live music, food trucks, and awards for the top three in each category. The event has secured a regular spot on Andorra la Vella's sports schedule.
