Hugo López joins FC Andorra on loan from Villarreal

Versatile forward presented after starring in league debut

Hugo López, a 19-year-old forward from Murcia, was officially unveiled as FC Andorra's latest signing on Wednesday. The player arrives on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season, with no purchase option, bringing technical skill, game vision and attacking flair to the squad.

López revealed he turned down other offers due to the Tricolours' persistent interest and the alignment with his playing style. "Andorra insisted quite intensely, which gave me comfort and peace of mind," he said. "It fits perfectly with how I play and who I am as a footballer."

His integration proved seamless. Despite limited training sessions, coach Carles Manso started him in the Primera RFEF opener against Ceuta, where López played the full 90 minutes in a 5-1 victory. "Receiving that trust right away gives you huge confidence and security for the match and weeks ahead," he noted.

The technical staff encourages him to express his natural game, a freedom that suits his versatile profile. López feels at home as a number nine, winger, interior midfielder or on the right flank. Fresh from winning the European Under-19 title with Spain this summer, he joins with high ambitions but no fixed targets. "I'm very ambitious and hope to score plenty of goals and provide assists, though I won't set a number since I don't know my limit yet."

López sees similar drive across the dressing room, evident in the Ceuta thrashing. "We wanted every goal up to the fifth, and that's how it'll be all season." The team's aim, he added, is to climb as high as possible in the standings.
