Swiss-Filipino Midfielder Randy Schneider Signs with FC Andorra for Segunda Debut

Randy Schneider, a 25-year-old Swiss midfielder of Filipino descent, has signed with FC Andorra ahead of the club's debut in Spain's Segunda División.

The player was presented to the media on Thursday, arriving as a free agent after ending his contract with Winterthur, where he spent three seasons and played over 100 matches. Schneider revealed that after a long summer considering options, FC Andorra's offer swayed him immediately. "When Andorra came along, I had no doubts about coming here to play," he said during the unveiling.

Now integrating with the squad under coach Carles Manso, Schneider has already spent several days training. Despite limited prior familiarity with the league, he praised the quality of Spanish football. "I knew they play good football in Spain. I like that the ball moves fast and I'm enjoying it a lot," he noted, adding confidence in his quick adaptation. "I think I can adjust rapidly and help the team with my style of play."

Positioned for offensive midfield roles, Schneider described his game as technical and possession-based, focused on creativity and unpredictability. "I like to be creative, do things nobody expects, score goals and provide assists," he explained. He also emphasized his defensive contributions, including aggressive pressing. "I also like to defend and recover the ball."

Schneider, who has youth international caps for Switzerland and eligibility for the Philippines senior team via family links, follows stints at Grasshopper and Aarau. His priority is now embedding in the Tricolours' professional environment.
