Andorran Gymnast Berta Miquel Finishes 19th in Rhythmic Qualifiers at Mediterranean Games

Andorran rhythmic gymnast Berta Miquel finished 19th in the qualification round at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, with a total score of 65.350 points.

Her performance placed her just outside the final, though she achieved strong individual results across the four apparatus. Miquel scored 23.000 points for 12th place with the hoop and matched that position with the ball at 20.350 points. She earned 21.700 points for 17th with clubs and closed with 20.650 points for 18th on the ribbon.

The outing followed her appearance at the world championships and marked a solid close to an important season, according to the Comité Olímpic Andorrà. Officials described it as a "good performance."

Miquel expressed satisfaction despite small errors that prevented a reserve spot. "In general, we had some mistakes that kept us from being reserves for the final, but we still achieved the result we expected," she said. Without those deductions—including 0.050 points each on ball and clubs, and 0.400 on ribbon—she noted the team would have been close to the general final. "That's a source of pride for the team and shows the work we're doing." She added that the result provides momentum for next season, with plans to improve routines and scores.

Andorra's focus now turns to athletics, where events begin Sunday. The delegation includes Nahuel Carabaña, Duna Viñals, Ariadna Fenés, Eloi Vilella, and Pol Moya.
