FC Andorra Routed 4-0 by SD Huesca in Final Preseason Friendly

FC Andorra coach Carles Manso remains confident in the team's preparation for its Segunda División opener against Ceuta on August 15, despite the recent 4-0 defeat to SD Huesca.

The loss in Wednesday's Trofeu Delaurentis friendly represented the only blemish in an otherwise positive preseason, where Andorra secured four wins and three draws across eight matches. The side scored 10 goals while conceding just seven overall—four of those in the single loss to Huesca. Defensive resilience stood out, with five clean sheets, including one against Segunda rival Sabadell.

Manso described the summer campaign as strong in general, even if the finale fell short. He emphasised refining tactics after seven or eight weeks of training and integrating 11 new signings into the squad's style. The coach commended midfielder Hugo Solozábal's consistent displays—despite his 73rd-minute own goal against Huesca—along with forward Nacho Quintana's reliability and defender Juan Sebastián's flexibility at left-back or centre-back. Julian Rijkhoff also emerged as a striker contender, despite a goalless friendly run.

Offensively, goals came from eight different players, with Quintana and Solozábal netting twice each. Others on target included Golubovic, Álex Calvo, Uzkudun, Aron Rodrigo, Jordi Cano and Moro Sidibé.

In the Huesca match, Víctor García opened the scoring with a 14th-minute long-range effort. Luismi Redondo added a second in the 54th after Lautaro Spatz lost the ball, followed by Solozábal's deflection and Pablo Osan's 81st-minute penalty.

New signing Enes Sali, the latest addition, expressed enthusiasm in a club media interview. The Romanian winger, whose path has taken him from Canada and Barça Academy to professional stints in Romania and the US, said the move felt ideal from the outset. "When I learned Andorra wanted me, it was an honour. The playing style resembles Barça's and fits my characteristics perfectly," he noted. Sali described himself as a direct player excelling in one-on-one situations, ready to provide speed, dribbling, goals and assists. He aims to help push for promotion to Primera División.

Ceuta approaches the Encamp encounter in good form, having beaten Málaga 2-1 in preseason alongside victories over Cádiz and Granada in three wins from five outings.
