FC Andorra Routed 4-0 by SD Huesca in Final Preseason Friendly

SD Huesca dominated FC Andorra 4-0 in the Trofeu Delaurentis friendly despite Andorra's strong preseason form. The loss came after extensive lineup changes, with young players tested against the Primera RFEF side.

Key Points

  • Huesca goals by Víctor García (14'), Luismi Redondo (54'), Solozábal OG (73'), Pablo Osan pen (81').
  • Coach Manso rotated squad heavily, debuting young Toribio; Ratti made key saves.
  • Andorra's preseason: 4 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss; next up Ceuta in Segunda opener Aug 15.

FC Andorra suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to SD Huesca in their final preseason friendly on Wednesday, marking their only loss after seven unbeaten matches this summer.

The match, part of the Trofeu Delaurentis, followed Andorra's 1-0 win over Real Zaragoza the previous day. Coach Carles Manso made extensive changes to the lineup, resting several players who had logged heavy minutes and giving chances to less regular squad members. Young centre-back Toribio, recently from Nàstic's youth team, started in defence alongside Juan Sebastián and Bomba.

Huesca struck first in the 14th minute when Víctor García fired a powerful shot into the top corner after a rebound fell to him on the edge of the box, catching goalkeeper Nico Ratti off guard. The hosts had a second goal ruled out for offside before halftime despite local protests.

Ratti made standout saves early in the second half, including a one-handed stop on Tresaco and another against ex-Andorra player Iván Rodríguez. However, Huesca doubled their lead in the 54th minute after Lautaro Spatz lost possession softly on the ball; Tresaco stole it and assisted fellow former Andorran Luismi Redondo for a clinical finish.

Andorra struggled to respond, and the scoreline worsened in the 73rd minute when Hugo Solozábal inadvertently deflected a cross into his own net. The rout was complete in the 81st minute after David Uzkudun conceded a clear penalty inside the area, which Pablo Osan converted.

Despite the result against a Primera RFEF side, Andorra's preseason balanced at four wins, three draws, and this single setback. The team now shifts focus to their Segunda División opener against Ceuta on Saturday, August 15, at 5pm in Encamp.
