FC Andorra Fall 0-1 to Eibar in Second Straight Loss

FC Andorra lost 0-1 at home to SD Eibar on Sunday, marking their second consecutive defeat after Aleix Garrido scored early in the second half at Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp.

The match started brightly for the hosts, with Efe Akman forcing a deflection wide from keeper Jonmi Magunagoitia after just 26 seconds. Marc Domènech and Randy Schneider fired efforts from distance in the first half, but Andorra's loose possession allowed Eibar counters, including one cleared off the line by Bomba before Jordi Cano's shot drew a block near the interval. Eibar stayed compact and posed few threats before the break.

Garrido struck in the 47th minute, tapping in a low cutback from ex-Andorra player Iván Gil at close range. Coach Carles Manso responded at halftime by substituting Moró Sidibé for Álex Calvo. Eibar's situation worsened in the 57th minute when Jon Magunazelaia earned a straight red card for a heavy challenge on Schneider, reducing them to 10 men for over half an hour.

Andorra took control, intensifying pressure through individual efforts. Sergio Molina's shot was headed away by Unai Elgezabal, Hugo Solozábal fired over, and Molina later drew a sharp save from Magunagoitia. In the second minute of added time, Akman's stunning volley from the edge of the area hit the top corner, but VAR disallowed it after a lengthy review for offside on Petar Golubovic in the buildup.

Post-match, Manso urged patience amid the winless start. "We're still building a team after many changes, so we must keep working," he said. "This is a long marathon. It's too early to draw conclusions or panic. We didn't fully grasp what the game demanded." On the VAR call, he added: "The referee was told from above. It's down to interpretation and how much you want to call it."

Pre-game ceremonies honored the club's oldest season-ticket holder, 88-year-old Antoni Besolí, and included a minute's silence for Lina Rovia, grandmother of major shareholder Gerard Piqué, who attended.

Andorra sit fourth in Primera RFEF with three points from two matches—seven goals scored, six conceded. Eibar, also on three points prior, move to fifth. The Tricolors travel to Valladolid on Saturday.
