FC Andorra Fall 0-1 to Eibar in Second Straight Loss

FC Andorra suffered a 0-1 home defeat to SD Eibar on Sunday, their second loss in a row after Aleix Garrido scored shortly into the second half at Nou Estadi de la FAF in Encamp.

The hosts began with promise, as Efe Akman unleashed a long-range effort just 28 seconds in, deflected wide by keeper Magunagoitia. Marc Domènech and Randy Schneider also tested from distance in the first half, but Andorra's shaky possession invited Eibar counters, including one cleared off the line by Bomba before Jordi Cano drew a block near halftime. The visitors remained disciplined and created few threats before the break.

Garrido opened the scoring in the 47th minute, finishing a low cutback from former Andorra man Iván Gil at point-blank range. Coach Carles Manso acted swiftly, bringing on Moró Sidibé for Álex Calvo at halftime. Eibar's task grew harder in the 56th minute when Magunazelaia received a straight red for a reckless tackle on Schneider, leaving them with 10 men for over half an hour.

Andorra dominated thereafter, ramping up the pressure. Sidibé cut inside and shot only for Elgezabal to save, prompting further attacking changes: Hugo Solozábal and Sergio Molina in the 57th minute, followed by Thijmen Rijkhoff and Petar Golubovic later, with just three defenders remaining. Molina's deflection forced a smart stop, and Solozábal spurned a good chance. In stoppage time, Akman's superb volley from the edge of the box found the top corner, sparking celebrations among the 2,720 crowd, but VAR ruled it out after a prolonged check for offside on Golubovic.

Pre-match tributes included honors for the club's oldest season-ticket holder, 88-year-old Antoni Besolí, and a minute's silence for Lina Rovia, grandmother of major shareholder Gerard Piqué, who was present.

Andorra hold fourth place in Primera RFEF with three points from two games—seven goals for, six against. Eibar, also on three points beforehand, climb to fifth. The Tricolors face Valladolid away on Saturday.
