FC Andorra Edges Granada 3-2 to Snap Five-Game Losing Streak

FC Andorra secured a vital 3-2 victory over Granada at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium, ending a run of five straight defeats and lifting them temporarily out of the relegation zone.

Jordi Cano starred with two goals, while Marc Domènech added the other in a match where Andorra, under coach Carles Manso, showed greater pragmatism and defensive solidity despite a fierce second-half onslaught from the hosts.

Manso made five changes to the starting lineup, bringing in Hugo Solozábal for Molina in midfield and pairing Nacho Quintana with Cano up front. A back five of Bomba, Alende, Spatz, Andoni López, and Carrique provided stability, allowing high pressing without excessive risk. Goalkeeper Pau López replaced the absent Owono.

Andorra struck first in the seventh minute. Quintana advanced centrally before releasing Cano, who slotted home a low left-footed shot past Raúl Lizoain for his third goal of the season.

Granada responded with pressure, creating chances through Manu Lama's long-range effort, a Marqués header cleared by Spatz, and Rodelas' volley from a corner that sailed over. Andorra held firm and doubled their lead in the 33rd minute. Solozábal's shot forced a corner, and from the delivery, Domènech rifled in a powerful strike from the edge of the box after VAR confirmed no offside involvement by Bomba.

Marqués limped off injured before halftime, replaced by Chinaza, but Andorra led 2-0 at the break amid home crowd boos.

Granada coach Pacheta reacted at halftime, substituting Pedro Alemañ and Gambín. The hosts pulled one back in the 47th minute when Lama headed in a Gumbau corner at the far post. Arnaiz missed an equalizer moments later.

Andorra countered swiftly. In the 51st minute, Cano intercepted Gambín's poor backpass, rounded Lizoain, and tapped into an empty net for 3-1.

Tension peaked in the 59th minute when López brought down Chinaza on a breakaway. Referee Juan Manuel Gordillo showed a straight red, but after a prolonged VAR review, he downgraded it to a yellow card, sparing Andorra a numerical disadvantage.

Granada kept pushing, with López saving from Rodelas and Spatz dominant at the back. Manso introduced Molina, Lautaro, and Álex Calvo for fresh legs; Pacheta brought on Hormigo and Angelo García, later Golubovic for Andorra.

In the 77th minute, another corner saw Lama head on for Gambín's acrobatic volley to make it 2-3. Granada laid siege, registering around 30 crosses, but Andorra's defense stood firm through 10 added minutes. Late chances for Chinaza and Gimber fell short, and López denied counters.

The visitors clung on for three precious points, celebrated like a trophy after their slump. They now await results from their next trip to Sabadell.
