Andorran Skier Gina del Rio Competes at Blink Festival in Norway

Andorran cross-country skier Gina del Rio wrapped up her participation at the Blink Festival in Sandnes, Norway, with a silver medal in Friday's 10km mass start race and an early exit from the rollerski sprint semifinals.

Representing the Andorran Ski Federation (FAE), del Rio secured second place in the 10km event, finishing 1.4 seconds behind winner Tiril Udnes Weng of Norway, who recorded a time of 21 minutes and 27.3 seconds. She overtook Switzerland's Nadja Kälin and Czech athlete Katarina Janatova in the closing sprint after staying with the lead group throughout.

Del Rio had withdrawn from Thursday's 50km race after breaking two poles, which prevented her from completing the traditional Lysebotn uphill section. On Saturday, she advanced from her sprint quarterfinal, taking second place with a margin of more than one second over third.

A problem during the semifinals halted her progress. She reached the first checkpoint in third, only half a second behind the leader, but fell to last place, finishing over 15 seconds off the pace after her poles snapped midway through the course.

The four-day Blink Festival in Rogaland draws top World Cup competitors for rollerski races and social activities, serving as key preseason training to build fitness for the winter season. Del Rio's results mark the end of her involvement as she continues preparations for the campaign ahead.
